RANT: office printers

so this is going to be a two part rant... well, the first one isnt really something worth ranting about, just a mild annoyance, but it contributes to the main rant.

1. if you print something, pick it up within a reasonable amount of time. reasonable meaning no more than 10 mins. there is a stack of printouts next to the office printer (that i only share with at most 6-8 people) that have been there for months.

2. because of issue 1, there have been too many instances where i print something, go to the print and find that it hasnt printed. here's my thought process as this happens:

"hm... it seems to be out of paper, what kind of jackass would leave the printer empty? oh well, no biggie. i'll just refill it myself. ok, there we go, now i just have to press the 'go' button and i'm all set... wait... why isnt mine printing?... why would someone print a 300 page presentation and not remember to pick it up, and hence realize that the printer is out of paper?... oh good it looks like its fini-... wheres my printout?... thats weird, let me go to my computer and check the printer's queue... wait... so you're telling me, not only did the person who printed the 300 page presentation forget, but 3 other people who printed stuff forgot too? my one page spreadsheet is 5th in the queue... fucking asshats..."

and about 20 minutes later i finally get my printout. nothing but a bunch of savages in this building...
