10 things i learned in montana
1. bars take checks (in fact, every business takes checks)
2. almost no one takes amex
3. every young male either a) has an excessive amount of facial hair, b) knows how to kayak, canoe, ski, snowboard, mountain bike, or build a house, c) works at the pizza place or the bar downtown, d) or all of the above
4. bluegrass is still alive and well
5. the worst day on the slopes in montana is better than most good days on the east coast (south of vermont)
6. its 'busy' if you have to wait for the lift for more than 2 minutes
7. being asian is still a novelty in some places
8. the police may suggest that you beat the shit out of your neighbor if he pisses you off (and if he's on your property)
9. people actually move to montana from other places (e.g. tuscon, boston, la jolla)
10. fresh pancakes + chocolate syrup + peanut butter = the greatest breakfast ever
